The Clear Light Sanctuary 2 employs a full spectrum, far-infrared heating system. This means it generates Near, Mid, and Far infrared heat – covering all three categories of the infrared heat spectrum.
POWERFUL INFRARED SAUNA
The Clearlight sauna uses full spectrum, far-infrared light energy to heat your body. Infrared saunas heat the body directly without heating the air inside the sauna. This creates a more comfortable and relaxing environment as the air temperature does not become oppressively hot.
The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 is a powerful infrared sauna. And, its infrared heaters have a power rating of 500 watts. This is over 10 times the power compared to many of Clearlight’s leading competitors. And, it’s enough heat to have you working up a sweat in as little as 10 minutes.
CARBON-CERAMIC COMBINATION HEATERS
The sauna is fitted with carbon ceramic infrared heating panels. This is a hybrid technology that blends two differing infrared heating systems to deliver the best of both worlds. Carbon heaters use flexible panels to generate infrared heat. They are more durable than ceramic rods but don’t create as much heat.
Ceramic heaters use ceramic rods that glow red hot when an electric current is applied. They become incredibly hot and emit large volumes of infrared heat. The carbon-ceramic combination heaters in this sauna give you the best of both worlds – lots of heat and long-life durability.
HEATER POSITIONING
The heating panels are strategically positioned to provide optimal coverage and expose your body to infrared light energy from all angles. The three largest panels are positioned around the seating bench – one on the rear panel behind your back, and one each on the left and right side walls on either side of the bench.
Smaller heating panels are located on the ground level to deliver heat to your legs. There is one each on the lower left and lower right side of the cabin. And, there are two front-facing heaters on the front panel – positioned on the left and right sides of the door. Finally, there is a heating panel on the lower front side of the bench to cover the back of your legs.
CONSTRUCTION
The Clear Light Sanctuary 2 scores highly in choice of materials and quality of workmanship. It is one of the best-made infrared saunas on the market currently.
CHOICE OF TIMBER
This infrared sauna is available in a choice of woods. You can choose from either Western Red Canadian Cedar or Basswood. Red cedar is a popular choice for saunas and has that distinctive warm red tone that we associate with sauna cabins. The basswood finish delivers a more neutral and cooler tone. They are both excellent choices. The Western Red Canadian Cedar is eco-certified, grade A clear western wood.
TONGUE & GROOVE CONSTRUCTION
The timber panels are tongue and groove which makes assembly easy. This is great news as the sauna is self-assembly. Fear not, it’s a simple process and you won’t need any significant DIY experience. The sauna comes with a set of clear-to-follow instructions and you’ll not need any power tools.
ERGONOMIC DESIGN
This Clearlight Sanctuary 2 is an incredibly well-designed sauna. It looks great and feels very comfortable to sit in. We particularly liked the ergonomic backrest that has been designed by a chiropractor and curves to promote healthy spinal alignment.
And the ergonomic features don’t stop there – it extends to the sauna’s flippable bench. The bench has been built so you can choose from two sides. One has an ergonomic shape that curves to complement your body’s natural seated position. And, the other is a regular flat surface. You can flip it over as you will.
ADDITIONAL TOUCHES
The Clearlight sauna comes with some nice touches that make it stand out from the competition. The tongue and groove wooden panels have been hand sanded to ensure a smooth-to-touch finish. And, the sauna cabin has a swish Italian design and interior accented lights for a stand-out elegant look.
SAUNA OPERATION
We found the Clearlight Sanctuary 2 easy to use. The controls are intuitive and you have the option of using the control panel inside the sauna or the Clearlight connect app on a smart device. This creates great flexibility and allows you to control the sauna from all most anywhere.
HOW TO USE
To begin your sauna session just power the Clear Light Sanctuary 2 on and use the control panel or app to set your desired temperature. It takes about 10 minutes for the sauna to heat up. Once inside you can adjust the temperature and you can set a timer to limit the duration of your sauna session. See below for instructions on how to use the control panel.
POWER THE SAUNA ON/OFF
Use the power button to toggle the sauna on or off.
SET TEMPERATURE
Use the temperature up and temperature down to select your desired temperature. The maximum available temperature is 158°F (70°C).
SET DURATION TIME
Use the time up and time down buttons to set the duration of the sauna session. These buttons allow you to adjust the time in 5-minute increments. The maximum duration is 60 minutes.
RESERVATION MODE
The sauna comes with a reservation mode – a feature we found really useful. This allows you to schedule the sauna to power on and begin heating up at a time in the future – within the next 36 hours. Reservation mode is ideal if you want the sauna to be ready for use when you need it and don’t want to wait 10 minutes for it to heat up. See below for how to set a reservation time.
SETTING RESERVATION TIME
- Switch on the sauna by hitting the power on button.
- Press the Reserve button.
- Use the time up and down buttons to select the number of hours in the future you want the sauna to switch on.
- Use the temp up and down buttons to select your desired temperature.
- Once you have entered your data the panel will flash and the sauna will begin counting down the time in hours.
- To cancel the reservation turn off the sauna.

CHROMOTHERAPY
This Clearlight sauna comes equipped as standard with chromotherapy lighting. Chromotherapy is a form of light therapy. It uses a range of light colors to help stimulate specific moods and energy levels, and induce a range of physiological responses.
The sauna has been fitted with a colored LED light system in the sauna ceiling. This light panel can be controlled using the remote control which allows you to select your preferred light color and light intensity – see below. It also allows you to set the intensity level of the lights.

STEREO AUDIO SYSTEM
The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 comes with a stylish built-in audio system. This is a great feature for people that like to listen to music or their favorite podcast while unwinding in the sauna. The stereo speakers inside the cabin can be connected to via Bluetooth or by using a lead and plugging into a 3.5mm aux outlet.
You will find the aux connection in the charging compartment – which comes equipped with a USB charging port so you can keep your device fully charged. To connect using Bluetooth search for ‘Infrared Sauna’ and use the pairing code 0000.
INSTALLATION & ASSEMBLY
Your Clearlight Sanctuary 2 sauna will arrive in four boxes and requires assembly. But don’t worry – you don’t need to be a DIY expert to put this sauna together. You will find the following items inside the boxes.
